Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Or RO-DBT, is an evidence based method of treatment designed for use with individuals exhibiting excessive amounts of self control. This can include people displaying high amounts of perfectionism, chronic depression, chronic anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, anorexia nervosa and some personality disorders.

RO DBT teaches individuals how to relax and turn off their "threat system" physiology through social safety signals in order to better express their inner experiences in such a way that effectively reaches those around them.

Rather than being about regulating emotions, RO-DBT teaches individuals how to use their emotions to help express themselves according to valued goals and join in tribe with likeminded people.

in order to adapt to changing environmental conditions.

based on premises that species survival required capacities to form long-lasting bonds and work in groups or tribes
